We spent the second half of the day wandering around the canals. Maps aren´t very useful in Venice bc the streets are all so small and windy. It was hard to for me to stay out of the shops (bc I was eyeing the jewelry and the masks that they use during Carnavale) so it took a while to explore the city. We went to St. Marks Square to run around with the pigeon, went inside the Basilica, and saw Doge´s palace (looks like the Venetian). Somehow we wandered to the Railto Bridge (one of the more famous on the Grand Canal) and enjoyed the random pizzerias we found along the way.
St. Mark's Square w/ the pigeons! (and a crowd of other tourists)
Doge's Palace (like the Venetian in Vegas)
Rialto BridgeWe are always on the go, so of course, we ran to the train station to catch our train to Florence. It was tough saying good-bye, but I know I´ll be back. Esp. since my trip was incomplete without a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe.
