Hallstat

Although I loved Salzburg, I didn't love all of Austria. Hallstat was a quaint, quiet town on the lake. The lake was beautiful and the town was really cute, but there isn't much to do aside from relax.
We donned full-body suits and went into the salt mines for a pretty cheesy tour. There was a light show in the caves describing the history of salt mining that made it feel like we were in the 90s. The only fun part were the slides. We raced down the slides that the miners would use to move around more quickly, but that was the only highlight.

This was the view from our room - the main square of the town.
